Red
Wine Is Served At Room Temperature
Please! Room temperature of an un-air-conditioned house
in Phoenix, Arizona - August 1 is 140°.The correct information
is room temperature - of a wine cellar. Because that is where
you are suppose to be storing your wine. The maximum temperature
a dry red wine should be served is 68° and the sweeter
the wine the more chilled it should be served.
Dry
Dry means
un-sweet, dry is on the opposite end of the spectrum of sweet.
The pucker factor you get on the roof of your mouth when you
taste a red wine is the acid and it has nothing to do with
the word dry. Acid masks your ability to taste sweetness and
fruitiness. Acid has nothing to do with the term dry.
Green Bottles
The only
reason to use a green bottle is tra-di-tion . Green bottles
were first used because when wine was first being put into
glass bottles you could not make clear glass. Even wineglasses
were colored not clear to start with. NO - the purpose is
not to protect the wine from the UV rays how many UV
rays are in a case of wine and why are you storing your wine
in the sunshine?
